What is the Difference between konark psc cement and konark ppc cement?
A brief description along with
comparison of konark psc (Portland Slag cement) cement and konark ppc (Portland
Pozzolana cement) cement are discussed below:
· Konark psc cement: It is popularly known as
Portland Slag Cement. It is manufactured by grinding together with “Portland
cement clinker”, “Blust furnace granulated slag” as well as gypsum. Sometimes, it is also manufactured by mixing
or combining with ordinary Portland cement or opc cement along with “ground
granulated furnace slag” through mechanical mixers or proper blenders. It is
also made up of 45-50% of clinker and 3 to 5% of gypsum. This type of cement is
eco-friendly.
The konark psc cement is used in the construction of marine structures.
It is commonly used in the coastal areas especially where immoderate amount of
sulphates and chloride salts are found. It is known to provide resistance
towards sulphates and chlorides attack. This type of cement commonly lowers the
risk of cracks on the wall and maintains its durability. Thus, it is used in
the construction of water dams.
Now let us discuss about
the most important features of konark
psc cement. The konark psc cement is famous for its high strength. It
requires less amount of water. It contains the lower shrinkage properties.
·
Konark ppc cement: It is popularly known as
Portlant Pozzolana cement. This type of cement is manufactured by mixing or
blending of ordinary Portland cement (opc) clinker plus gypsum along with some
pozzolanic substances especially siliceous material, in a certain ratio. It is
generally used in ground level.
The konark ppc cement is used for general construction related work. It
is suitable for the works related to harsh environmental condition. It can be
used in the construction of marine structures, mass concrete related work such
as retaining pipes, sewage pipes and construction of dams. The konark ppc
cement is used in brickworks as well as construction projects. This type of
cement uses natural along with industrial waste to reduce environmental
pollution. It is also found to be useful for plastering, as a water-proof
material, tilting. It causes less shrinkgae and cracks. Residential project
related construction work uses this cement.
Now the important
features of konark ppc cement are: it is carefully manufactured by proper
selection of particle sizes of fly ashes (pozzolana) which are ideal for
durable and denser concrete. It has the property of “low heat of hydration”. It
is resistance to different environmental chemicals like salt water etc. It is
generally used for hydralic and marine construction.
·
The
difference between konark psc cement and
konark ppc cement are enlisted
below:
Ø The process of hydration
is found to be slower in konark ppc
cement as compared to konark psc
cement.
Ø The resistance capacity
in terms of aggressive weather is found to be more in konark ppc cement than in konark
psc cement.
Ø The konark ppc cement has few important features which is pore
refinement and low bleeding properties which perfect for plastering as compared
to konark psc cement.
